Who should get vaccinated
You're encouraged to get the shingles vaccine if you are:

Age 50 and above
Protect yourself as your risk increases significantly after 50. Stay active and independent through your retirement years.

Weaker immunity
Age 18+ with conditions like diabetes, undergoing cancer treatment, or on long-term medication.

Had shingles or chickenpox before
Even if you've had shingles, chickenpox, or the older Zostavax vaccine, you can still benefit from protection.
The whole process, start to finish
No surprises, no waiting around. Here's exactly what happens when you book your shingles vaccination with us.

Step 1: Book your appointment
Choose a time that works for you (including evenings and weekends).

Step 2: Your visit
- Just bring your NRIC or identity document. We'll verify your subsidy eligibility when you arrive.
- When you arrive, we'll confirm your details and subsidy tier.
- Your doctor will then review your health history and answer any questions you have. There's no rush. The vaccination itself is a quick injection in your upper arm, over in seconds.
- Afterwards, we'll ask you to wait about 5 minutes for standard precautionary observation.

Step 3: After you leave
- Your vaccination is logged directly to HealthHub automatically, there's nothing for you to do.
- Most people feel completely fine afterwards. Some experience mild soreness at the injection site, slight fatigue, or headache for a day or two — these are normal signs your immune system is responding. If you have any concerns, you can reach our clinic anytime.
Frequently asked questions
About the Vaccine
If you've had chickenpox, the virus remains dormant in your body and can reactivate as shingles when your immune system weakens with age. The Shingrix® vaccine helps your body maintain strong defences to keep the virus inactive, significantly reducing your risk of shingles and the lasting nerve pain it can cause. It's a preventive measure, not a treatment, and is recommended for adults aged 50 and above.
Shingrix® is a non-live vaccine that provides over 90% protection, even for adults in their 70s and 80s. Unlike the older Zostavax vaccine, Shingrix® is safe for those with weaker immune systems and offers longer-lasting protection — up to 10 years based on current research.
The vaccine is given in two doses. Once both are done, protection usually lasts up to ten years or more. No regular boosters are currently needed.
Unfortunately, shingles is far more painful than a rash. It can cause sharp, burning nerve pain that lasts months or even years. Some people cannot sleep or work properly because of it. The vaccine prevents that suffering before it begins.
Safety & Suitability
Yes. Shingrix is a non-live vaccine, which means it is suitable for most people over 50, including those with long-term conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart problems. Before vaccination, the doctor will review your medical background to ensure it is appropriate for you.
You may feel mild soreness, redness, or swelling where the injection was given. Some people also feel a little tired or feverish for a day or two. These are normal signs that your immune system is responding. Severe reactions are very rare, but our doctor and nurses will monitor you briefly after the injection for safety.
Yes. Having shingles once does not protect you permanently; it can return. The vaccine helps prevent a repeat episode or reduces the severity if it does recur. Your doctor will usually recommend waiting around two months after recovery before getting vaccinated.
Most adults can safely receive the shingles vaccine. You should postpone if you're currently unwell with a fever, have an active shingles outbreak, are pregnant, or have a known severe allergy to vaccine ingredients. Our doctor will review your health history to confirm suitability before vaccinating.
Appointments & Scheduling
From registration to injection, most visits take about 5 to 15 minutes. You can even get it done during lunch break or right after work.
